August Beauty Favorites

I’ve come across so many fabulous beauty finds at the end of summer and I’m so excited to share them all with you. With massive amounts of time spent in the outdoors, my skin and hair has been subjected to lots of sun and environmental elements. All that had led to both my hair and skin needing some extra moisturizing and TLC. The following products have been so great when it comes to hydrating and bringing back some of that glow and have been on heavy rotation the last month.

Vanity Planet Spin for Perfect Skin

This complete face and body skin cleansing system is the bomb. I love that I have everything I need in one convenient product. The Spin for Perfect Skin has various attachments that cleanse, exfoliate and smoothes every inch of your body. Included with it are four interchangeable attachments:

  1. Daily Cleansing Facial Brush – the soft nylon bristles gently cleanses away dirt, grime and makeup. I always use a toner after removing my makeup and washing my face. Prior to using the Spin for Perfect Skin, I would always still have dirt that would rub off on the toner pads. Now when I apply toner after using the brush, the cotton pad is completely clean. I love that my face is actually getting fully clean and I think that it has helped make a difference in my complexion and leading to brighter and more refreshed looking skin.
  2. Exfoliating Facial Brush – I use this brush more sparingly (once weekly) to achieve a deeper clean and exfoliation. The synthetic bristles whisk away dead skin and allow for better product absorption.
  3. Body Brush – I’ve been battling some dermatitis issues, especially on my legs (I blame it on super sweaty workout sessions and tight pants), and I’ve been using this brush and have seen a bit of improvement. I’m hoping that with continued use that I can continue to see skin improvement.
  4. Pumice Stone – I love this attachment! I suffer from some pretty intense Fred Flintstone feet with intense calluses due to being barefoot 24/7 and this is perfect for smoothing my heels and other areas of my feet.

If you’re looking for an all-in-one cleansing brush, definitely check out Vanity Planet. They have some killer deals too so make sure to keep your eyes open for those.

Vichy Mineral 89

Vichy newest product, Mineral 89, is fabulous for moisturizing and refreshing skin. This lightweight facial moisturizer contains hyaluronic acid and 89% mineralizing water to help boost your skins resistants to harsh elements, like pollution, stress and fatigue. I love applying this immediately after washing my face for intense hydration that lasts all day and protection from everyday stressors.

Joico Color Balance Shampoo

Since I’ve lightened my hair drastically the last few months, adding a purple shampoo into my haircare repertoire has been a must in order to help battle some brassiness. Joico Color Balance Shampoo has a color correcting formula that has been great for keeping the cool tone of my hair and maintaining it’s color. By using this shampoo twice a week (I allow it to sit in my hair for a few minutes with each use), I have had great results and brighter blonde highlights.

When Masks

My skin thanks me for these awesome bio-cellulose sheet When Masks. There are masks for whatever skin ailment or issue you are dealing with. I love applying one of these when I’m soaking in the tub for an all over body TLC session and find that they fit better than some other sheet masks that I’ve used in the past. I’ve tried the following: 10:00 PM, Glamour Base, Snow Magic, The Last Choice, & Travelmate which address issues such as aging skin, brightening, hydrating and rejuvenating. You can pick these masks up at Sephora!

Tarte Amazonian Clay Waterproof Bronzer

I’m kind of obsessed with this bronzer from tarte! Whether you want a subtle glow of color or intense bronzing, this bronzer can easily be used for any look you are going for. It builds up easily and blends well and I love the waterproof aspect for sweaty, end of summer days. This was a great bonus in my recent Ipsy bag and I’m so thankful!

Urban Decay Afterglow in Sin

I’ve tried a lot of highlighters and this one by Urban Decay is by far my absolute favorite yet! I love the champagne hue and it has the prettiest, flattering glow ever. A sweep over my cheekbones and a bit on my cupids brow is perfect for accentuating (cupids bow give impression of fuller lips). The color stays on pretty well, but do find that I feel the need to occasionally applying again near the end of day (that’s without the use of a setting spray).
