Beach Bag Essentials for a Perfect Day of Fun in the Sun!

Summer is in full swing and beach days are definitely one of my favorite things to do to enjoy the sunny weather. The key to a stellar beach day is packing a beach bag with ALL the essentials. There is nothing worse than road tripping it to your destination and finding that you forgot things that you really need or want.

Make sure to keep my list handy for the next time you head to the beach so you can have enjoy every moment of fun in the sun!

Beach Bag Essentials

1. Body Wipes

I’m loving the gentle and fab smelling body wipes from SweetSpot Labs. These incredibly gentle pH balanced wipes are free of alcohol and glycerin and can be used everywhere on your body (even your sweet spot). The cloths are super soft and use gentle cleansers and are packed with extracts of aloe vera, cucumber and witch hazel for a fresh clean. I love the refreshing, summertime inspired Coconut Lime scent and they are perfect for freshening up after a sweaty day at the beach (great for your gym bag too). Don’t forget to pick them up at Walmart (online and in store) the next time you shop. They have a gentle shower wash too that I love because it doesn’t irritate my sensitive skin.

2. Bluetooth Portable Speaker

The Kicker Bullfrog BF400 speaker bumps and is perfect for a day at the beach (or anywhere outdoors). This speaker is bluetooth enabled and you can quickly and easily stream from your phone up to 100 feet. With 360 degree sound, several subwoofers and a waterproof cabinet, it’s a must have for outdoor fun.

Best indoor/outdoor bluetooth enabled speaker ever! My favorite hat for sun protection as well.

3. Bathing Suit

I’m totally loving on my newest suit from Beach House Swim. This sporty tankini style suit (with built in 50+ UPF) keeps me comfortable and confident and able to keep up with my kiddos or rocking out a game of beach volleyball.  The built in sports bra keeps the girls secure and the quick dry material is a definite bonus. Buy here!

Plenty of coverage to allow you to move and be active, while still being cute!

4. Sunscreen

La Roche-Posay Anthelios has some great sunscreen products. I’ve been loving their Dermo-Kids Sunscreen because it works extremely well, is super durable and rubs in easily. They have a Clear Skin Dry Touch Sunscreen that is perfect for my face as it doesn’t cause irritation or breakouts unlike other brands.

5. Reading Material

My favorite thing is catching some sun and breeze while reading a can’t put down book or a light-hearted magazine. I just started reading It’s Always the Husband by Michele Campbell and can’t get enough of it. A fab thriller thus far!

6. Towel

A large, soft and absorbent towel makes all the difference. I love the large size of these roundie towels and the designs are so pretty! The large size means plenty of room to get comfy and relaxed!

7. Sun Shielding Hat

As I’ve gotten older I’ve began to be much more aware and careful when it comes to sun exposure, especially on my face. A wide brim hat is perfect for keeping your face and chest a bit more protected and keeping you comfortable. This hat from prAna is one of my favorites.

8. All the Hair Things

One of my favorite things to do when at the beach is to treat my hair to a super intensive hair treatment mask. After a dip in the water, I lather my hair with a mask, relax and let the mask work it’s magic on my hair. Eprouvage has a great hair mask that helps restore and rejuvenate distressed hair (and it smells amazing). Don’t forget hair ties and bobby pins to tame wild hairs.

9. Rose Water Spray

If you haven’t used a rose water spray, you’re missing out. My favorite is this facial spray from Mario Beduscu and I keep this in my beach bag all summer. It’s great for rehydrating your skin (and can be used in your hair) after being in the sun. It moisturizes and soothes with rose water and aloe, while providing a super calming and relaxing scent.

10. Lip Balm

I’m a lip balm addict. I always carry some with me and my go-to is the original Burt’s Bees. 10 years of use and nothing compares!

11. Waterproof Mascara

I’m loving on L’Oreal Voluminous Feline Noir lately. It stays on well, doesn’t flake, provides awesome volume without having to reapply over and over.

12. SPF Powder

I was super skeptical about this product, but Sweat Cosmetics SPF Powder has become one of my summertime essentials. It’s a translucent powder that also has 30 SPF protection. Simply buff it on your high zones to tame oily shine while providing additional sun protection.

13. Water Bottle

Staying hydrated is high on my list for staying healthy and happy. Ain’t nobody got time for dehydration! Keep hydrated with a large, BPA bottle from Twinkle Twinkle Little Jar (they have so many fun and customizable designs).

14. Sunglasses

This is the one thing that I somehow ALWAYS forget and it drives me crazy. Do yourself a favor, pack your favorite sunnies first. I’ve been digging on these Baboa shades from Adidas as they’re perfect for lounging, playing sports, and on-the-go.

My fav beach essentials!

Don’t forget to pick up SweetSpot products at your local Walmart!

Did I miss any of your must have beach essentials? Are you more of a beach or pool gal?
