Let’s face it! Being a mom is a tough job and deserves a little pampering now and then. While I love getting a spa day, sometimes it’s just not in the budget or the time isn’t there to escape for half a day. Just because I can’t make it to the salon doesn’t mean I can’t have a bit of a spa day at home.

Below are a few of my favorite at home spa tips and tricks to get in a little R & R in the comfort of my own home:

Peace & Quiet

Send the kids off with daddy to run some errands and enjoy the quiet. It’s so much easier to enjoy when you don’t have to hear screaming, yelling or whining in the background. Pour yourself a glass of wine and take in all the silence.

Soak it All Away

Pour some scented epsom salt (I love lavender for relaxing) or bath bombs into a hot bath and sit back and relax. Light a few candles and listen to some music you enjoy (no Kidz Bop or Disney tunes…unless that’s your thing, of course). Buff your skin with an exfoliating sugar scrub and wash all your worries away.

Get Glowing

Do a little skincare TLC with the multi-award winning Hydropeptide On The Glow Anti-Wrinkle Travel Set! I love this perfect set for energizing, brightening and balancing my skin while providing anti-aging protection. I start with the exfoliating cleanser to energize my skin, hydrate and give it a healthy glow followed by the pre-treatment toner to even out my skin tone (which totally needs all the help it can get) before jumping in the bath. The purifying mask is amazing! I slather it on prior to jumping in the tub and let it do it’s magic. A quick FYI: there’s a slight tingle (nothing uncomfortable, but it caught me off guard) after applying. This mask is made of purifying clays, peptides and hyaluronic acid that minimizes pores while firming and hydrating skin at the same time. While you’re at it, add a few cool cucumber slices to eyes for an even more relaxing experience (we’ll work on those tired eyes in a little bit…).

Honeydoo that Hair

Honey is great for your hair. Simply take a 1/2 cup of honey and massage it into your hair and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse very well with warm water. honey is a natural humectant which means that it holds in moisture. It is great for treating damaged, dry hair whether it be from the sun, wind, color treatments or hot heat styling.

Lather Up

After you’ve soaked to your little hearts desire, pat dry and lather up with some luxurious and ultra moisturizing cream. I love using Hydropeptide and Eye Authority and Face Lift at this point. The eye cream is ultra soothing on tired eyes and helps lessen the look of dark eye circles, fine lines and puffiness. Even though I don’t get much sleep, at least I don’t have to look like it. The Face Lift moisturizer is loaded with peptides help protect your skins resilience against environments factors that lead to aging, while energizing, restoring firmness and fading age spots.
