Post-Workout Cool Treat | Orange Cream Protein Popsicles

After a super sweaty workout on a sweltering, hot summer day, there is nothing I love more than something that can cool me down immediately. Ideally, I’d have a huge, cool pool to jump into but since that’s a few years away, these tasty, sweet and healthy Orange Cream Protein Popsicles are perfect for cooling down quickly! They’re low calorie and pack a mini power protein punch which is great to help you refuel and rehydrate after a grueling workout (make sure to chug lots of water too).

For these popsicles, I used Ideal Shape Orange Creme Ideal Shake mix. IdealShape is on a mission “To be the simplest and easiest weight loss solution, and to help one million people to achieve their ideal shape.” They help customers lose weight by controlling their hunger with affordable delicious products to regain their confidence and self esteem to live their ideal life.

The Ideal Shakes are intended to be used as a meal replacement, but I don’t think that it’s sufficient enough nutritionally to replace meals on a consistent basis. I’m not good with replacing meals with a liquid substitute…it just makes me hangry no matter how many calories, fiber, protein, etc.  I do like the consistency of these shakes though. It’s a bit thinner than other shakes and since I have texture issues sometimes, this is definitely something that I prefer. I’d use this shake mix as a snack over a meal replacement though. 100 calories isn’t enough to constitute a meal, but suffices for a small snack.

Ideal Shape shakes are all around 100-110 calories each, 11 grams of protein (all-whey protein helps you build lean muscle when combined with exercise, so you burn even more fat), 3 grams of fat, 10 grams of total carbs and 22 vitamins. This is a great nutrition combo for a quick and healthy snack or mini-meal for a busy mama or for a pre or post-workout boost.
