I know that we all already have to-do lists a mile long so adding a few more items to your list is the last thing that you want to do. I get you, I really do. I’m busy…really busy and feel like some days fly by in such a blur that I can’t remember the simplest things. Between taking care of two kids under age 3, yoga a few times a week, training for races and Tough Mudder, keeping up on blog work, maintaining our home and so on; life is crazy most days. Despite that, there are a few things that I do every day that I truly believe make a huge difference when it comes to living a healthy, active and balanced life. These simple and easy tips are so incredibly important to be living the best life possible. Keeping your body and mind happy, healthy and fulfilled is the key to being the best you possible and allows you to fulfill your goals to your best ability.

Continue below for some great sweepstakes promotions going on from Nature Made. 🙂

Prioritize Sleep

This is probably one of the things that I struggle with the most, but when I work hard towards catching more zzz’s I feel 100 times better! I challenge you to go to bed a half hour earlier than you do currently (and don’t bring your phone into bed to scroll through Facebook). Just 30 minutes extra sleep every day adds up (an extra 3 1/2 hours a week). Ideally, aim for a total of 7-8 hours a sleep at night so your body has a chance to rest and you can get some REM sleep which is so important for…

Drink More Water

Keeping hydrated if SO important to keeping your body running healthy and as optimal as possible. I often find that I’m feeling sluggish or hungry despite recently eating and most the time it’s because I haven’t drank enough water. Drinking water has so many benefits such as healthier skin and hair, temperature regulation, enhanced cell performance, removal of toxins and waste and so much more. Experts recommend 8-10 cups of water daily.

30 Minutes of Exercise Daily

Exercising is one of the most important ways to lose and maintain a healthy weight. Keeping a healthy weight helps to decrease your risk of developing certain diseases (such as high blood pressure, cardiovascular issues, diabetes). Exercising helps to release those feel good endorphins that improve your mood too! Whether you take a simple walk or bike ride with the family, yoga, weight lift, Crossfit, running, 30 minutes of any physical activity is sure to pay off with a happier and healthier body and mind.

15 Minutes of Me Time

In this fast paced and busy world, we can all use a breather to help reground and add a little balance to our lives. As a mom of two under 3, most of my days fly by as I put everyone else needs and desires before my own. Taking just 15 minutes a day to focus on self-care or to decompress are so important for mental health. Take a bath, read a magazine, do some sun salutations, listen to the birds…whatever makes YOU happy!

They Stretch

Stretching is so important and probably one of the most overlooked things that people rarely do. Aside from maintaining flexibility in your muscles, stretching also helps to move toxins out of your muscles and into your circulatory system which helps to ultimately flush it out of your body. Stretching can also help to work out stress and leave you feeling limber, more toned and mentally clearer (some joints like your hip flexors can hold so much mental stress that stretching them can provide great mental release).

Take a Multi Vitamin

This one is so easy and so beneficial! While we should all aim to eat a healthy diet, taking a multivitamin is a great way to supplement our intake of vitamins and minerals. Nature Made Vitamins are my trusted partner in making each day a little bit healthier. They are #1 Pharmacist recommended and for good reason: quality ingredients that you can trust. Being super active and taking care of little ones means that it’s incredibly important that I maintain a balanced and healthy lifestyle and Nature Made Adult Gummies are a great way to help me do so. They taste great, are made with natural flavors and colors, have no yeast and are gluten free. I love how convenient they are to purchase at my local Meijer so I don’t have to make any additional errands while out.
