11 Fun Trampoline Games & Activities for Young Kids

With both kids home all summer long, I’ve been pulling out all the tricks to wear off some of their seemingly bottomless energy! One of the best additions that we added to our collection of backyard fun was a Vuly Trampoline. Every time we went to a home with a trampoline or to events with bouncy houses my kids would be so happy and bounce away the whole day so getting a trampoline for at home fun (and exercise) seemed like the next step. While they love just jumping, we’ve started adding some fun trampoline games and activities that keep everyone entertained for hours that I can’t wait to share with you.

Disclosure: I was compensated with a Vuly Trampoline in exchange for this post.

While trampolines are a great way to burn off some of that excess energy, it also has some other great benefits! Bouncing on a trampoline is a great low-impact cardio exercise that tones muscle while also improving coordination. I love getting out and jumping with my kiddos while adding some extra movement into my day and earning some extra “cool mom” points too. 😂😉😝 Feeling stressed, tired or anxious? Get bouncing! All that movement gets the blood moving and it’s pretty tough to feel stressed out when bouncing around.

When it came to picking a trampoline, safety was my number one concern. Sky Zone powered by Vuly Trampolines combines the premium bounce of Sky Zone trampoline parks with the the best modern safety features possible to keep your family safe. The two safety features that I was most concerned with were a netted enclosure and covered springs. Our Vuly Trampoline net is nearly 6 feet tall and made with a tight UV resistant mesh to prevent anyone from falling off the trampoline or hitting any hard areas (even the door is safety proofed!). All the springs are covered with a thick padding and outside of the outside the bounce so there are no worries about pinching fingers! These features definitely give this mama peace of mind to ensure that my children stay safe while jumping. Another bonus: free 2 day shipping with Walmart!

Below are a few of our favorite trampoline games and activities that we love to do as a family. They are all simple enough that even your littlest jumpers can enjoy them.

11 Fun Trampoline Games & Activities for Young Kids

1. Crack the Egg

One player sits in the middle of the trampoline with their arms around their knees. The other players jump around them until the egg player lets go of their legs and “cracks”.

2. Simon Says

This is a great game for little ones to improve listening skills and learning body parts, the difference between left/right and following simple sequences. The leader provides tasks for the remaining players by saying “Simon says: jump twice, spin around, sit on your butt, etc.”). If the leader doesn’t say Simon Says and the players do the command, they’re out.

3. Pop It

Fill up a designated number of water balloons in different colors. Each person playing is assigned a color balloon and the goal of the game is to pop the balloon of their assigned color without using their hands. The first to pop all their balloons win! Watch craziness come to life!

4. Monkey In The Middle

This one is pretty self-explanatory and one that most of us probably played as young kids. Someone is chosen to be the monkey in the middle while there is one person on either side of them. The outside players throw a ball over the “monkey” while the money tries to time their jumps to catch the ball. The monkey has 10 tries to catch the ball and gets one point for each catch. The player with the highest amount of points wins.

5. Chalk

My kids love chalk, but they really love it when they can bring it to the trampoline.  Sidewalk chalk writes so easily on the trampoline and shows up much more vibrant on the black surface. Tic-tac-toe, hopscotch and making race tracks for their Hot Wheel cars to drive on are just a few favorites. The best part, it easily washes away to do it over and over again. Make sure to have everyone wearing play clothes as it will rub off on clothing.

6. Sprinkler Splash

Place a sprinkler underneath your trampoline and let kids enjoy the mist and spray that comes through the mat. It does make the trampoline a bit more slippery, but my kids absolutely love it. It’s a great way to cool everyone off on a hot summer day.

7. Balloon Bounce

Blow up balloons and put on trampoline within enclosure. Let everyone jump in the flurry of balloons. This is a fun and simple activity for your little ones!

8. Star Light

My kids LOVE everything stars and solar system and when we first got the trampoline, one of the first requests was to camp out on the trampoline to watch the stars. While we didn’t stay out all night, we grabbed some pillows, blankets and yummy snacks for a late-night stargazing session. Add a few glow sticks to add a little more fun to your evening adventure.

9. Stuffed Animal Bounce

Let each kid bring out a few of their favorite stuffed animals and bounce with them. So simple, but being able to bring a few of their favorite toys to play outside and jump with them brings so many smiles and laughs.

10. Camp Out

Grab the sleeping bags and solar lantern and enjoy a fun night of impromptu camping. You can throw a large sheet (or several sheets clothes pinned together) or bug net over the netted enclosure to keep out bugs.

11. Fort

On hot days, under the trampoline can be a cool reprieve from the heat. Use several old sheets to drape around the steel base to create a fort under the trampoline. It’s a perfect cool hideout and fort!

This is brilliant. I love seeing simple outdoor fun being promoted for kids. Not only will these games keep them active and healthy but they also spark imaginative skills which is awesome!A lot of my friends are digging a hole to put their trampoline in the ground now which I think is really cool if you have the space to do so.
