We’ve been spending so much time outside this summer and I’m always struggling to keep everyone as sun safe as possible, especially my baby girl. Since Brielle is so young (only 5 months), I have been trying to avoid using sunscreen since she’s constantly touching her face and eyes and I’d rather wait to expose her to the ingredients in sunscreen until she’s a bit older. With that said, there is only so much you can do being stuck under the shade of a patio umbrella, especially with an older brother who is always on the go. That’s why I was SO thankful to have found Little Sun Hat and her adorable bonnets and hats!

Little Sun Hat is a headwear company that makes adorable and functional products for babies and young children. Her hats are incredibly well-made and super fashionable. Little Sun Hat began in 2013, when the founder, Kara Meloy, made a bonnet for one of children.

Little Sun Hat bonnets come in a wide variety of colors, styles and sizes. All bonnets are made in the U.S.A., in Cashmere, Washington, with natural sun protective fabrics (linens and denims), are reversible, machine washable and have adjustable chin straps (snaps and or ties, depending on the style).  There are styles suitable from the ages of newborn to 4-6 years of age, for many styles and both boys & girls.

One of my favorite things about these bonnets is that they are reversible! I love a product with options, especially accessories like hats. For this review, I chose the Modern Bonnet in the peony print. I fell in love with this print immediately. It reminds of sweet spring time and the beautiful blooms from my garden. I had been searching for awhile for a bonnet that would not only look cute, but provide protection from the harsh sun.

I absolutely love the incredibly wide brim as it provides so much shade from the sun and protects her sweet face. The brim easily flips back for a smaller brim while showcasing the pinstripe denim fabric (which is a charming fabric that goes with so many outfits). The wide chin strap has 2 snaps to make it adjustable so there is no fear of your darling hat slipping off and being lost. This is one of the few hats that Brielle doesn’t mind wearing. I find that most hats have annoying velcro on the straps which chafes and gathers fuzz. The snaps are comfortable and reliable (nothing to come untied) and fuss free.

Another bonus: They always ship for free in the U.S.A. (no code needed).

The kind folks over at Little Sun Hat are being so gracious and giving away a hat or bonnet of their choice to one lucky reader.
