Spring is less than a week away and I couldn’t be more excited or ready! After our family trip to San Diego where we enjoyed vast amounts of sunshine and warm weather, we are itching to get some spring-like weather in cold and snowy Michigan.

Spring is the time of year where I feel super motivated, invigorated and ready to explore. I can sense that my kiddos are feeling the same way as the days get longer and sun gets a bit warmer. To help welcome in spring, I have a few things that we’re excited to do to welcome in spring.

Get Outside

Michigan winters are looooooong and cabin fever is running hot in this house. We can’t wait to spend our days outside! We love spending the warm afternoons eating a picnic lunch outdoors, cleaning up all of the kids outdoor toys (give them rags and let them help) of dust and grime, bike rides in the neighborhood, exploring parks and local trails, and our absolute favorite: checking out every playground that we can!

Start Garden Planning

I can’t stress enough how important and fun it is to garden with your kiddos. We started Aiden young and he has such an appreciation and love for it now at only 3 years old (and it helps him be motivated to eat his veggies when he grows them himself). Spring is the perfect time to start planning your garden: where to plant it, prepping the space, picking out what to grow and so on. Involve your child and let them pick out a few veggies/fruits/flowers that they enjoy. It’s such a fun and educational activity for everyone that lasts through spring and summer.

Walk Daily

As soon as temperatures start reaching 45 degrees, we get outside daily to walk (or jog). It feels great to get the blood moving, the sunshine warms our souls, it burns off energy for the kids and we all are happier and healthier. We love meeting and chatting with neighbors along the way and I Spy has become a new favorite game to play with our 3 year old.

Spring Cleaning

Spring is all about starting fresh and clean. We do major purging and minimizing of all that “stuff” that gathers throughout the cooler months (toys and clothes especially). Open the windows, play some family friendly tunes, give the kiddos age appropriate tasks and get to cleaning.

Pick Out New Spring Clothes

Out with the old, in with the new! We always make sure to head to OshKosh and stock up on spring essentials to freshen up my kiddos wardrobe for sunshine and outdoor fun. We love OshKosh for their large selection of age appropriate and comfortable clothing for every spring need possible: Easter (whether casual or dressy), spring break vacations, egg hunts, playground adventures, and everything in between. Their kid fashion styles can’t be beat, especially when you pair up their already great prices with coupons (see below for a great coupon!!). I love that I can shop for both my toddler and preschooler all in one place too with the Baby B’Gosh and OshKosh selections.

We loved these outfits that we picked out at our local OshKosh store for the kids! They are perfect for play, but are super cute, stylish and comfortable, which makes everyone happy! Plus, we got them for a great deal!

Check here to find the nearest OshKosh store and take advantage of the coupon below. You can always shop online too and be sure to use code: OKBG3270 to save 25% off a $40 purchase.
