Get Well and Stay Well Favorites!

With it being our son’s first year in school, we have been having our fair share of sickness in our home. I cringe every time that someone starts with the sniffles or has a fever because I know that means that it’s only a matter of time before everyone in our family comes down with whatever gunk is going around. Sometimes it feels like it can take a month for illness to fully cycle through the whole family and we can all be 100% back to wellness again. When sickness strikes, I try to make sure that we have a few power products on hand to get us through.

Recently I received a fun box of goodies from BabbleBoxx that are perfect for being prepared and ready to hunker down when illness strikes. There’s a little of everything in this box whether you’re the caretaker, the one on the mend or just need a little boost to keep both your spirits and immune system going.

Louisiana’s Way Home from Candlewick

When sickness strikes, there’s a lot of downtime for everyone. I love having a good book to read and Louisiana’s Way Home by two-time Newberry Medalist Kate DiCamillo was an instant #1 best selling novel with rave reviews. The story is about deciding and figuring out who you want to be and sounds like a perfect uplifting read to cozy up with on a sick day.

Use the promotion code CANDLEWICK at checkout on candlewick.com for a 25% off all books. Only valid to U.S. purchases.

Red Diamond Green Tea, Black Tea & Medium Roast Colombian Blend

As soon as the weather gets cooler, my tea kettle works overdrive! When I’m feeling under the weather, Red Diamond Tea is a constant in our home! Red Diamond has a long-standing relationship (four generations) with one of the largest tea importers in the country which allows them to source the finest quality tea from around the world.

My favorite is green tea when I’m battling the sniffles (especially with a little raw honey and lemon). It warms the body from within, has a great taste, while also soothing itchy and scratchy throats.

When I’m up all night long taking care of my littles, give me all the caffeine! On those long days, black tea and coffee are my BFF’s. Red Diamond’s black tea is a blend of orange pekoe and pekoe cut black teas (with very little to no stem content) for a great tea flavor (my favorite homemade iced tea). Red Diamond also has Columbian Coffee that totally gets me moving and keeps me motivated through full on mama bear nurse mode days! Their beans are grown at high altitude, hand picked, sun-dried and roasted in small batches for a fabulous, rich flavor.

Pure Synergy® Rapid Rescue® & Pure Synergy® Enzyme PowerTM

PureSynergy always impresses me with the wide range of products and supplements that they carry. I’ve been a huge fan of their Organic Berry Powder and Veggie Powders (the carrot is awesome), so I was excited to check out a few of their products that are formulated for optimal health, especially during flu and cold season.

PureSynergy Rapid Rescue helps boost your body’s natural protectors through the dynamic duo of echinacea elderberry extract and other immunity boosters!  For your digestive health, Pure Synergy’s Enzyme PowerTM is a powerhouse that boosts digestion, absorption and improved nutrient utilization through pure, plant-based enzymes. It supports a healthy balance in the gut microbiome and immune system as well. When your digestion is on point, your whole body feels better, skin health can improve, increased energy and improves mood.

Use code: PURESYNERGY15 for a 15% discount on all products through 12/31/18 (cannot be combined with other offers).

Neo-Synephrine Nasal Sprays

When it comes to being sick, I can handle the sniffles, but absolutely hate having a stuffy nose and sinus pressure. The pain and pressure can be debilitating so having products that help to relieve nasal congestion is a must! I’ve found that using nasal sprays like Neo-Synephrine help so much for temporarily relieving sinus congestion/pressure and to help restore freer breathing through the nose. Neo-Synephrine has 3 options (extra, regular and mild strength) depending on your needs and is the only medicated nasal spray concentration approved for use in children down to age 2!

You can purchase it at Walgreens, Walmart, Amazon, and others. You can always find a coupon for Neo-Synephrine on their website.

SMASHCRISPY Treats

When I’m sick, I want all the sugary sweets! While I’m totally a proponent of eating a healthy diet 90% of the time (it’s all about balance), sometimes you need a sweet treat or snack to lift your spirits. SMASHCRISPY Treats crispy rice treats are so yummy: gooey, crispy, chewy, sweet and oh-so-delicious! SMASHCRISPY Treats are made from natural ingredients and are gluten, soy, dairy and nut free. They come in three decadent flavors: Cinnamon Churro, Strawberries & Cream, and Mint Chocolate Chip (cinnamon churro is my favorite). You definitely need to keep a stash of these around 24/7!

Use code SNACKSMASHCRISPY on smashmallow.com for 25% off SMASHCRISPY (ends 11/30/18).

What’s your favorite way to pass the time when you’re feeling under the weather? I’m definitely a bookworm!

My favorite thing to do to pass time when I’m feeling under the weather is either to read or to watch a show/movie. Both of these are relaxing and do not require me to give extra effort that I may not have at the time. Also, I was introduced to nasal spray last year and man does that product work wonders!

I read a book, just like you, drink something hot and enjoy time on the sofa in front of the fireplace x

The nasal spray is up there on our list of feel better remedies too when the sniffles strike! I also keep a Neti Pot close at hand too. I’ve found that if I do the Neti Pot and follow it up with nasal spray, it will completely clear my sinuses within a few minutes and I will be breathing clear and easy for about 12 hours!
