Cold weather means one thing: hot, warming drinks! With winter break just starting for the kids, I made sure to stock up on all the hot chocolate essentials so that we have everything we need to indulge in some sweet, rich chocolatey goodness.

I wanted to share one of my favorite additions to add to holiday drinks that is so simple to make and so delicious too: Peppermint Whipped Cream! With only 3 ingredients, you can easily whip this up in just a few minutes with the help of the Vitamix Aer Disc.

The Vitamix Aer Disc container is compatible with all full-size Vitamix blenders and offers so many great functions to master four culinary techniques in just minutes:

  • Muddle – extract juice from fruit and essential oils from herbs without puréeing
  • Whip – get more volume in less time and substitute your favorite fruits or berries for endless recipe variations
  • Foam – create hot or cold foam for drinks and cocktails
  • Emulsify – great for sauces, dips, dressings and spreads

The Aer Disc has a unique design that allows liquid ingredients to be pulled through small holes in the spinning disc, aerating and emulsifying them, while firmer ingredients like ice, fruit, and herbs are agitated but not puréed. It’s pretty simple, but an great function to have especially if you do a lot of party hosting or from scratch cooking!

Now onto the good, fluffy stuff!

This yummy, whipped cream is so tasty! I’ve been using it nonstop lately and love adding a big spoonful to homemade hot chocolate or in my coffee. It’s a great way to jazz up a simple dish with a little holiday peppermint pizazz!
