Anyone else feel like they live in a zoo during these cooler months when you are stuck inside with your kiddos? How about hibernating when the weather is in the single digits? Glad I’m not alone! With the freezing cold temperatures, snow and ice, I find it so much harder to get out and active. This time of year we have to get creative with helping to release cabin fever and work out some energy. With two little ones, it’s absolutely necessary to get moving to get out that energy otherwise it gets crazy! I always feel times better after a sweat session too which means a happier home for everyone!
We recently picked up an awesome Samsung Smart TV from Walmart (thank you income tax refund!) and it has been a lifesaver this winter for so many reasons! There are so many amazing options to help you stay active and healthy with the help of your Samsung Smart TV. Below are a few of the ways that we use our Samsung Smart TV to burn off energy, sweat and get moving.
Samsung Smart TV Apps
There are SO many amazing fitness inspired Smart TV apps available and a majority of them are free. Whether you enjoy yoga, pilates, weight training, meditation, HIIT (high intensity interval training), kickboxing or something else, there is an app out there for you. I absolutely love being able to simply select an app, choose a workout and be able to get a sweat sessions in from the comfort of my own home. I avoid having to travel out in inclement or freezing whether, nix gym fee’s and I can workout even with the kids around. The kids love it too as they can join in and I love the fact that they are growing up to see fitness and exercise as a regular staple in our lives (after all, we as parents are role models for our children and I believe that it starts incredibly young). It’s so fun and cute to watch the kids follow along as I exercise.
YouTube videos
I love being able to stream videos on our TV. This is perfect for streaming kids yoga or dance videos on the TV which my kids love to dance along to. I simply pull up the YouTube app from the quick and easy to access menu on my TV screen, search for videos within my queue that I want to play, and immediately can play them on our TV. You can also use Quick Connect or Screen Mirroring to share screens within Samsung devices (like their tablets or cell phones) or to send content from devices to your Smart TV. We love being able to see these on such a large screen and it makes it so much easier for everyone to follow along!
Even if you aren’t interested in fitness, Samsung TVs are so convenient for streaming your favorite shows through Netflix, Hulu, Amazon Prime and there are apps for every single interest out there (literally hundreds to choose from). We love how easy and intuitive ours is to use (even the toddler can use it).
Be sure to take advantage of all the great tax times deals that Walmart has on all of your electronic Samsung needs. They have a huge selection of Smart TV’s, tablets, home audio systems and even mobile and smartphone options at everyday low prices at your local Walmart.
How do you fight off cabin fever at home?
Love this post…so cute! Great idea to utilize the fitness apps.
Smart TVs are awesome! I use my husband’s x box and stream that way but I would definitely love to get one of these someday! Working out and doing yoga keeps me from doing crazy during winter!
We have same telly 😉 I haven’t try this yet but now you inspired me so tomorrow I’m going to look for some fitness apps on my smart TV. Great post!
This looks awesome. I don’t own a Smart TV but have used them before, a few of my friends own them.

Having access to YouTube and apps sounds amazing. Great find!
Sounds awesome! Your pictures made me smile, since my daughter likes to “help” me with yoga too!
We’ve had our eye on a smart tv for awhile. Maybe we’ll take the plunge with our tax refund! The prices have gotten so much better in the last couple years.
Love the apps on our Samsung! So fun!
