I think that I’m likely one of the last people in my group of friends (both online and offline) that hadn’t jumped on the essential oil bandwagon. I never had anything personally against essential oils, but just didn’t really know where to begin nor which ones were a good fit for my family. When Simply Earth contacted me about a partnership, I’ll admit that I was apprehensive at first because this is something that I have no background in. However, when I took a closer look at their service and products, I was totally intrigued.
Simply Earth provides a monthly essential oil recipe box subscription. Each themed box contains 5 essentials oils, 6-7 natural recipes and all the fun extras needed to make the recipes and oil blends. For only $39 a month, it’s an amazing deal! To purchase these oils separately from some of the other big companies, you would spend nearly $200. And don’t worry about low quality — The oils are 100% pure high quality and each batch is tested to ensure that nothing has been added or removed from the oils which leaves you with pure natural plant goodness. They are able to keep costs low, by cutting out the middle man and selling directly to their subscribers. That’s a win in my book!
I absolutely LOVE that they send recipes with the box and any of the extras that might be needed to make the recipes! It takes all the guess work out of using them and makes it simple, fun and easy to use. The November box was chock full of Christmas Recipes to get my house ready for the holiday season! Such perfect timing and I love that it is seasonally appropriate. I love having a reason to create and make items for my home, and this was so perfect because it makes the art of creating so easy. There’s something so cathartic about making and creating things for me (I’m sure that many of you can relate).
The recipes included with this box were:
- DIY Scented Ornaments
- Christmas Air Freshener
- Happy Joy Essential Oil
- Natural Christmas Tree Blend
- Holiday Home Scent Spray
- Christmas Diffuser Blend
When I first opened the box, I loved the blast of scent that oozed from the sweet little box. I immediately felt in the Christmas Spirit and couldn’t wait to see more. I made the Holiday Home Scent Spray first and misted it in my dining room and started the Christmas music!
The ornament recipe was so easy to make and Aiden loved being able to get his hands dirty and create scented ornaments for our home and gifts for family members. I was even able to get a few hand print ornaments of my kiddos for keepsakes and we will definitely be doing this activity a few more times.
The air freshener jar is perfect, especially when paired with a decorative jar (like this DIY mason jar).
I’ve really been making an effort to use more natural products when it comes to cleaning supplies in our home. I’m really hoping that over time that this could be a great way to learn more and slowly make the transition to a more chemical free and natural home. With Brielle constantly touching and putting her hands in her mouth, this is something that is really important to me. I can’t wait to see what the next few months will bring. I took a sneak peek for the next months box and I’m so excited for it to show up in my mailbox! You’ve got to take a look for yourself!
Another great thing I love about this company is they philanthropic spirit. 13% of their profits is donated back to organizations that are fighting to end human trafficking. My state, Michigan, is the 2nd worst state for human trafficking and there has been such a huge rise here lately and so many scary stories, that I’m so glad to see a company supporting and helping to bring an end to it.
I can say that I’m definitely hooked to this amazingly fun and useful subscription box. I can’t wait to see all the fun crafts, home goods and beauty items that I can make and use essential oils for. Of all the different subscription boxes that I’ve tried and reviewed, this is definitely ranking up there with my favorites and most useful. It would be a PERFECT holiday gift this season too!

I haven’t really used essential oils before but I’ve heard they are great.
I love using essential oils to freshen up my house! I recently bought a diffuser/humidifier that I use with oils. I will definitely be looking into this box. Thanks for the article! Your pictures look fantastic.

I haven’t heard of this brand. I like to use some essential oils. Peppermint is my fav!
I’ve never hard of a monthly oil box, but it’s genius! I constantly diffuse oils in my house (candles make me sneeze!). Right now I can’t get enough of cinnamon oil in my diffuser. Smells like Christmas 🙂
I didn’t even know anything like this existed. WOW. I will check into this for sure. Seems to be very frugal.
This is such a neat idea for a subscription box service! I will have to check this out.
I LOVE oils. My diffuser is always going. In fact, I can’t sleep without it.
I just starting using essential oils last month around my home. I love the scents and how they clear the air not just mask smells! I haven’t gotten into using them for healing. That might be a little too hippy for me 😉
I haven’t jumped on the essential oils bandwagon either. I’m sure they do wonderful things since they are plant-based. I just never knew what to do with them. I like that this subscription box offers real ideas of how to implement the oils into your life in practical ways. It sounds like this would be a great way to test the waters … or oils … as a newbie. I’ll definitely keep it in mind.
I like that the box comes with specific recipes for the oils you receive and any other items you need to create them. Looks like a good way to get started using oils!
Love that they include the recipes for the blends right in the box! Such a cool concept.
