Crispy Pan Fried Tofu with Orange Sauce Buddha Bowl

This bowl is a medley of so many yummy flavors: crispy tofu, brown rice, a vibrant blend of veggies and a tangy, spicy orange sauce! This buddha bowl recipe is a mix of a hearty salad and a rice bowl that keeps you full and satisfied. Sauce can be made ahead of time and keeps well in fridge for 1 week.

Ingredients
  

Buddha Bowl

  • 12 ounces crispy pan-fried tofu
  • 1 cup brown rice cooked
  • 4 cups spinach
  • veggies of choice
  • orange sauce recipe below
  • green onions optional
  • sesame seeds optional
  • crushed red pepper optional

Spicy Orange Sauce

  • 6 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 Tbsp grated ginger
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 cup orange juice
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 3 Tbsp soy sauce
  • 1/2 tsp crushed red pepper

Main Dish

  • Line bowls with spinach, top with rice and assorted vegetables. Top with crunchy tofu and optional toppings. Drizzle with Spicy Orange sauce. Enjoy!

Sauce

  • In small sauce pan, sauté garlic and ginger in sesame oil until browned. Add in orange juice, honey, soy sauce and crushed red pepper and mix well. Bring to rolling boil and then reduce heat to medium. Let sauce simmer, reduce and thicken for about 30 minutes. Stir every 5-10 minutes. Serve with tofu or drizzle over salad/rice bowls.
