The holidays are right around the corner and I’m sharing some of my favorite gift ideas for boys 5 years and older! I absolutely love picking out new toys and gifts for my kids around the holidays. When it comes to picking out toys, I always opt to find toys that I know that they’ll play with over and over, those that allow their imaginations to run wild and most importantly, something that brings joy and laughter.

Kids this age love sensory toys and Heroes of Goo Jit Zu Deep Goo Sea is perfect for sensory seeking kiddos! Each figure has different types of goo filling (and even some hidden sea creatures floating inside) that make their bodies, arms and legs squishy, crunchy and ultra stretchy. The figures can be stretched up to three times their size and have some special effects (the Double Goo Figures each have their own pop-out weapon!).

Akedo Battle Giants
These battling action warrior toys are so fun for kids to play with and collect! The newest series has 4 NEW Supersized Beast Strike Giants to battle with! Each battle character comes with a button bash controller that is used to control and battle giants. The Shadow Roach is so cool as it has double the defense with Double Strike Armor! Hit him once to watch his armor explode off his body, then hit him again to defeat him with an epic Split Strike! There is also a line of mini battling action warriors (25 across series 5 & 6) that can be played and collected too.

Doo Doo Kangaroo
Gifts are always high on my list for gifting! Doo Doo Kangaroo is a hilarious and fun game that kids love! In this silly game, you feed the kangaroo donut treats until he goes “doo doo”. Like most elementary age kiddos, my kids love bathroom humor so this game was a perfect fit for them. When the kangaroo begins to get full, he shakes and shimmies before letting it go. Their reaction the first time was priceless as they giggled nonstop! The first to pick up 5 donuts and get them on their plate is the winner! This game is perfect for those with mixed ages in the house as both kids younger and older can have fun with it (recommended for kids ages 3+). You can buy at Target.
Flipslide
We’ve had and have loved this game for years! Flipslide is an electronic handheld game in which you flip, slide and match the colors to beat the clock. With 4 competitive game modes, you can choose the speed, play by memory or play alone or against family and friends. We love this game for taking on the road when traveling or camping as it provides hours of fun that everyone can enjoy (the sound can be turned off). It’s definitely a great game for older elementary kids (8+), but enjoyed by adults too! Buy here!
