You can tell it’s fall here in Michigan and that winter is quickly approaching! The leaves are dropping like crazy, mornings are bitterly cold and my kiddos are bringing home all the germs and cooties. 🙄 We’re suppose to have an intense winter this year with lots of snow and cold temperatures so I’m making sure to have all the cold weather essentials needed to stay warm, cozy and healthy this season. Below are a few of my winter warm-up essentials:

Alternative Apparel Thermal Cropped Waffle-Knit Tee & Terry Champ Sweatshirt

Give my ALLLLL the comfy and soft clothes! Winter is all about layering and these are a few of my favorite pieces that you need in your closet. This cropped waffle-knit tee  is so soft and so perfect for layering. I love wearing it with a pair of leggings to my yoga classes with a cute sports bra underneath. It’s light enough to keep me warm (great seasonal transition wardrobe addition), super cute and I love the raw edge detail at the bottom! It’s the perfect length to pair with leggings, high waist jeans or for staying cozy in sweats.

On chillier days, I layer it with the washed-terry champ sweatshirt (available in several great rich colors!)!  This dark grey goes with everything and it’s one of those pieces that you just never want to take off because its so cozy (the French Terry has a super soft and gentle texture). I’ll definitely be picking more of these up in other colors!

You can purchase Alternative Apparel at your local Bloomingdales or online at Bloomingdales.com!

Original Ginger Chews and Ginger Honey Crystals from Prince of Peace

Ginger has so many great health benefits and serves as a remedy for many ailments as well. A few of the perceived health benefits of ginger are that it supports digestion and brings comfort (I loved ginger for morning sickness when pregnant), anti-inflammatory properties and it brings the heat and is warming to the body’s senses.

I love finding new ways to add a little ginger goodness into my diet and these Ginger Chews and Ginger Honey Crystals from Prince of Peace make it so easy to do! Aside from being delicious, the ginger chews are super convenient for taking on the go and I love keeping a few stocked in my purse (especially helpful when my stomachs feeling a bit upset after eating out or if I need a little internal heat to keep me warm on ultra-chilly days). Ginger Honey Crystals are a great addition to my evening tea to add great flavor and smell! Each satchet has 12 grams of raw ginger and natural honey that makes the most delicious tea that’s loaded with so many fabulous health benefits too!

Cold Sore Treatment from Campho-Phenique®

Cold Sores are literally the worst! I’m lucky that I don’t tend to get them, but my hubby and kids have and I always feel so terrible for them. We always keep Campho-Phenique® Cold Sore Treatment stocked in our medicine cabinet to be ready to fight uncomfortable and unsightly cold sores. At the first sign of a cold sore (if you get them regularly you might notice a tingly or itchy sensation before it’s visible), we start using it immediately. The clear gel quickly absorbs into skin to provide relief with a topical painkiller and antiseptic to relieve pain and prevent secondary infections. Make sure to check out their website to snag a high-value coupon!

Ecosmart Sweats from Hanes

Did you know that Hanes now has an eco-friendly product line? I love seeing that more companies are doing this so I definitely wanted to give their new Hanes Ecosmart Sweats a try! First off, they are so comfy and the cinch leg sweatpants & zip hoodie (the pale pink is my favorite color!) are the best to slip on after a long day to cozy up on the couch. The Ecosmart products use over 50% renewable energy sources in manufacturing and keep over 50 million plastic bottles from landfills since they are used to make the recycled polyester that’s used in this clothing line.
